New Beginnings: I'm not starting over, I'm picking up where I left off

New Beginnings: I'm not starting over, I'm picking up where I left off

Hey Y’all,

Welcome to my website. It almost feels weird saying “hey y’all” and not following it up with “and welcome and or welcome back to my channel” like I did on Youtube. It also almost feels weird typing it instead of actually saying it. “Almost” because on top of kinda sorta feeling weird it also feels right and exhilarating and…. vulnerable. I left Youtube for a bunch of reasons, but mostly because I was unfulfilled. To be transparent, I never thought the next step would be podcasting or blogging, I thought I would hang up my gloves ( or pack away my ring light) and fade into irrelevancy, never trying my hand at content creation again. Yet, here I am.

When I made Youtube videos, I felt like I was all over the place. People wanted me to do makeup tutorials, I wanted to talk about social issues and lifestyle and nothing was clicking or falling in to place. I don’t like to be or have lukewarm anything, not showers, relationships, or coffee. I keep it real hot (word to Megan the Stallion— except for coffee, iced coffee is that girl) and my channel was real— cold. Now after doing the whole “ feeling like a failure” thing, I’m ready to dust myself off and try again, my way.

And what better timing. Everything is changing and new: I just graduated from undergrad, I will be starting my Masters of Public Health program at a new school in a new state. Mentally and physically I feel different, prepared (it’s hard to explain in words but when you know, you know). I entitled this blog post “New Beginnings: I'm not starting over, I'm picking up where I left off” because I want to utilize all the things I learned in my hiatus, because I know it was just as valuable as the time I spent on camera. I’m excited to embrace this season of change and get back to creating. Faith and consistency will get me through and I’m excited to share all of these endeavors with y’all ( don’t be a fake reader/listener, hold me accountable). Get ready for lots of memes, laughs, dialogue, and all the things I have in store.

Thank you for reading,

xoxo- Liv
